[2000-09-09] Roll call from the Side-Line
* On and off-line EBM, synth pop and gothic mag Side-Line are launching a
new double CD compilation series based on acts with women performing the
main vocal duties. The first release is entitled "Venusa XX [part.1] a
collection of femina vox", will hit the streets in early 2001 and will
cover a wide range of music styles (electronic to gothic or trip-hop). To
get things hopping Side-Line is asking artists interested on appearing on
the disc to submit material on CD, mini-disc or DAT with the closing date
being October 30th, 2000. When the material is all in John n. Sellekaers
at the Metarc Studio will be performing mastering duties and the sleeve
design will be compliments of ArtNow. Each featured band will get 5 copies
of the compilation as plus "usual mechanical rights" via Gema in Germany.
For more details on where to send demos or just the general scoop on the
mag, drop a note to ber...@frontstage.com.

[2000-09-09] Live Lawly
* Seminal label Susan Lawly has just added an "epic-length" version of the
"JLAC" to their mp3.com site, the track being taken from Live Action 81
which was recorded in Bochum during 1997. Keeping things abrasively
rolling, Whitehouse will be running "Live Action 86" in London, England on
Friday, October 13th (gotta love that date) with more details and advance
tickets available via in...@susanlawly.com. Finally, you can now afford to
go get a coffee and a CD as all Susan Lawly goods have had their prices
slashed by a buck due to a strong US dollar (both online and mailorder
transactions). For more details hit the sites above and remember that the
Susan Lawly FAQ is mirrored here.

[2000-09-08] sick, sick, sick
* The Pig Orchestra have just added a fresh track entitled "Darlin" to the
TheSickCity site for your listening (dis)pleasure. The song is compliments
of "Raymond Watts and friends" and will be appearing on the upcoming (fuck
me if I could find the title) release for the band. In related news, Sow
and haloblack are playing nice together and will have collaboration
material appearing on upcoming Sow and h3llb3nt release, yet to be named.
Speaking of h3llb3nt, their next release is planned for spring of 2001
release with US and Canada tour as part of the bargain (likely accomplices
for the tour will include Pig, 16volt, haloblack and Sow). TheSickCity
have just completed a limited run of t-shirts (the first batch is long
gone) so if you are clothing challenged you should hit the site above.
Also up shortly wil be a bunch of videos from the usual suspects (though
no codec mentioned - please no nagware Quicktime!). Finally, the 'Sick
types have a message board up which is the place to go for fresh updates
and such. For more details drop a note to in...@thesickcity.com.

related articles, noise history, top ten lists" and whatever other
relevant material you have to offer. If you wish to be interviewed for the
zine you need to send them a tape first but you will get a free copy of
the zine that you appear in plus a free ad. The first run will be 1000
copies and advertising is available with sizes and prices at the site
above. For more details and a snailmail address to send contributions to

above or by dropping a note to fus...@digital-intersect.com. Also
available at this point is the split C-60 between Stolen Light and R4
which is limited to 35 copies and priced at an equally paltry $4ppd.

Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia already spoken for but everywhere else is
apparently up for grabs. At this point the request is for analog / found
sound stylings with EPL stating, "I have enough computer stuff, bang on a
table or something". To get the full details drop a note to
prosth...@hotmail.com. In other label news a number of projects are
