Hi netters everywhere!
I still can't recall HOW! but I fought my apprehensions and all and
actually looked up the ITRANS with my text
browser, with all topics highlited et al! and figured out which songs
are not yet there that I had posted on PRsPD series.
Surprisingly, out of 19 till now, 10 were NOT!! So, without knowing, I
was posting my favourites and they somehow were not there !! I guess, I
need to make sure I don't give up RMIM before I pour out my collection
as was rightly feared by Prince !!
Can you believe this, that the following songs were NOT YET in it???
PD02 maiN jab bhee akelee hotee hooN
* PD03 maiN dil hooN ik aramaan bharaa
PD06 aaj kee mulaakaat bas itanee
PD07 ham se aayaa na gayaa
* PD09 aurat ne janam diyaa mardoN ko
* PD11 sapane jhare phool se

PD17 tasweer teree dil meraa bahalaa na sakegee
PD18 ye kalee jab talak phool ban ke khile
* PD19 tum agar bhool bhee jaa-o to ye hak hai tumako
additions:
PD15 tum to dil ke taar chhed kar (addition of a para)
PD05 jogee ham to luT gaye tere pyaar meN (addition of a para)
Not even the more famous ones "aurat ne janam", "tum agar bhool bhee
jaa-o" (!!! Haay Sahir, ham na huwe!! ) "maiN dil hooN ik aramaan",
"sapane jhare"
Bhaayi-oN aur bahan-oN, ye kyaa ho rahaa hai :-(
Meraa man hu-aa ki kaheeN chullu... phir khayaal aayaa ki arey! not
before I itrans them :-) So Prince received 12 mails in < 20 minutes!
Hope that enriches the ITRANS.
And guess what! Which is the VERY FIRST song to be ITRANSed??

"jaane kyaa DhooNDhatee rahatee haiN ye aaNkheN mujhame" [PD13]
one of my all-time old-time great!! from Shola aur Shabnam, and great
Rafi Sahib. I had this song written in class 8 and since then, I have
been maaraa-maaraa bhaTakoing to find the movie etc. All I rememebred
was the Rafi tune, the hum in my mind, "kaise baazaar kaa dastoor tumhe
samajhaa-ooN; bik gayaa jo wo khareed-daar naheeN ho sakataa"
Then, in in 1989 summer, en route to Banglore for training, I stopped
in Madras Medical College hostel, and found on a Rafi hits cassette
last song side B!!! AAAAAAAAAHHH but I could not get it taped yet. Then
I forgot about it. Dec 1993 I bought Anamol Ratan - Rafi (pack of 10)
and there it was!! Then I went and saw the film, and just now I bored
you all to death. But if you read till here, I know I have my staunch
supporters "Fauji Bhaa-ee" to listen the "Vividh Bharati" from
Minneapolis off of a friend's account!

This one's there. Look under "Hamase aaya na gaya...."

This one's there as well... listed as "Svapn jhaDe phool se..." U must've looked
under "sapne jhare..."

There are thousands of "famous" songs and only a few who contribute to the
ITRANS and even fewer who take the pains to transliterate them into ITRANS.
So, it's no surprise that a lot of very popular songs are missing.

Thanks for adding "Tum agar bhool bhi jaao...." and "Main dil hun ek armaan
bhara...." The latter, along with "Ai husn zara jaag..." is my fav. piano song.
And it's a coincidence :-) that these songs were composed by my fav. MD's,
Roshan and Naushad respectively. I recall Preetham posting "Main jab bhi akeli
hoti hun..." on RMIM many moons back... perhaps, it missed the ISB gang's keen
eyes.

This side of that particular Anmol Ratan cassette has some wonderful songs
(except the last one... I had posted the list on RMIM earlier). I was however
disappointed when they cut off this song at "...bik gaya jo woh KHareeddaar
nahin ho sakta" The manner in which Rafi Sahab sings "Jaane kya DHoonDHti
rehti hain..." after this particular line is amazing!

Yep hope we get together this summer and do more transliteration (hope
my advisor will still bless me :-)

sochate hain ki songs itrans karane vaalaa thak jaayegaa to bhai aa
dekhen zaraa kisame kitanaa hai dam.....

yeah I agree. I just thot, 'aurat ne janam' was really famous as a typical
Sahir song, even included in articles on him in many literary magazines
and not just film mags. And there are, I believe many die-hard Sahir fans
as well :-) Anyway, it was only a friendly prodding. I guess, I will have
to use more smilies!

I don't know about moons back, but the PRsPD [2] was
