For film SHABNAM (1949), the second female lead artist's name is listed
in Hindi
Film Geet Kosh as: Paro

I was wondering, if she was also called: Begum Para ?

If I can recall it correctly, Dilip Kumar's elder brother, Nasir
Khan' s wife name was:
Begum Para

Thanks

The two were completely different persons. Begum Para
was no doubt Nasir Khan's wife, but she was a glamorous
star in her own right. IIRC, she was one of the earliest
leading ladies to have been referred to as an "oomph" girl.
You would remember Paro from the film "Sargam", where she
played the elder sister of leading lady Rehana. She appeared
in minor roles in several films later on. Probably in
Rajendra Kumar/Sadhana starrer "Arzoo" too.

A photo of Paro can be seen on my website.

Type begum para in Google Images to see the other.

Quite a few Hindi film personalities, even from the earliest days, can
be found using this method. You have to try various spellings because
etc.

Two different Paro-s are listed by imdb.com. Only
one film is listed against "Paro Devi" : Ganga Ki Saugandh,
a 1978 release. For Paro who acted in 'Sargam', 13 films,
covering years 1947 to 1972, are listed. But 'Shikari' (1946)
has not been mentioned on the website. It's a pity because
it could possibly be her debut film and the film showcased
her singing talent as well, as did 'Do Bhai' an year later.
It looks like she was with 'Filmistan' from 1946
to 1950. Neither S D Burman nor C Ramchandra
gave her a chance to sing in 'Shabnam' and 'Sargam'; but
she deserves to be remembered for her beautiful singing
in 'tere binaa suunii suunii hai merii phuulawaarii re' alone.
She was unlucky to start her career just when opportunities
for lesser-known singers were becoming scarcer.
