Sarfaroshi kii tamanna ab hamare dil mein hai
dekhana hai zor kitana baazu-e-qatil mein hai

karta nahin kyon doosara kuchh baat-cheet
dekhta hoonn main jise vo chup teri mehfil mein hai

ae shaheed-e-mulk-o-millat main tere oopar nisaar
ab teri himmat ka charcha Gair ki mehfil mein hai

[mulk = country; millat = nation/faith]

waqt aane de bata deenge tujhe ae aasmaan
hum abhi se kya bataayen kya hamare dil mein hai

Kheench kar layi hai sab ko qatl hone ki umeed
aashiqon ka aaj jamaghat kucha-e-qatil mein hai

[jamaghat = crowd; kuchaa-e-qatil = killer's lane]

This should be "waqt aane par bataa".

I Re-hecked lyics with Shaheed-e-Azam's version

The lyrics are same as I had written


"waqt aane par bataa". It is conditional and certainly wrong way of
expressing one-self. It is like telling the Bus Driver

"Driver Saheb, Jhumri Talaiyya Aane par Mujhe Bataa Dena"

In fact 'waqt aane par' may be slightly less conditional than 'waqt aane de'. In the former version, the sense is of 'we will declare our intentions WHEN the time comes', i.e. the time (of revolution, in the context of the ghazal and the film in which it is used) is definitely coming. But no point wasting our breath now about what our intentions are!

In the case of the latter version, the sense is of 'LET the time come and we will talk about our intent'. Here the sense is not one of inevitability. It is more of a challenge to the revolution to come and we will show our resolve, our strength. It leaves the possibility of time of revolution not arriving.
'Waqt aane par' is lot more powerful and definitive and this is how it is sung in the film (Shaheed).

All IMHO of course.
