Thanks Vijay Sahib. Now I see the picture of that familiar Spanish senora in Flamenco frilled long skirt dancing away to Castanets percussion.
I was thinking of two pieces of broken slates held between fingers to create that sound. Years back I used to travel in Bombay locals, on Saturdays the crowd would be thin so, usually a girl child accompanied by a younger brother would take round of the compartments making that kind of sound and sing some song.... Knowing very well that giving them money didn't help their cause, it would still be very difficult to deny them some coins.
Imagine Kishore chose Hemant Kumar for this song although he himself was very good at emoting all kind of emotions.
