====IN HUMOUR, the following reply====

You will not get any constructive reply from these IKDUM THIKDUM AGDUM
BUGDUM posts of RMIMers of this forum...This does not also mean that "
I " know everything...never...the process of research is 24 hrs going
on-n-on-n-on...WHY??....coz of the inherent passion that keeps surging
up-n-down...and for these RMIMers ...cine music is a way of
relaxation / entertainment...in other words: armchair listening
( I.T.A.B.)

Haven't you said before that you are a passionate reader about the old
cine world !!

I also anticipate colorful reactions from my dear RMIMer friends with
whom I equally sympathise !!

Continuing the humor thread, Jay is one such RMIMer, and yes, you will
not get any constructive reply from him :)

I am intrigued by the image of Jay listening to music other than in an
armchair. Maybe he goes for a jog in the park carrying a player that
plays mint 78s while he works out :)

every Pack of plying card has a joker and circus too. So we have a
joker in the group.
His presence in inevitable, without him the group becomes boring and
remember Joker is most important part.

Here are the details of 'serious listening' as opposed to armchair
listening. ;-)

1) Apply and polish each side of the 78rpms using 14.80365012 gms of
'mint chutney' (the secret is out - how to maintain vinyl discs in
mint condition).
2) Put cotton buds in both the ears, (so that there are no disturbing
extraneous sounds).
3) Stand and balance oneself on one toe, use the other toe for foot-
tapping.
4) Shut one eye (one wonders what to do with the other eye - perhaps
look out for Deccan Queen racing past platform no. 3 at full
speed).
5) Tie both your hands behind one's back.
6) Loudly sing 'IKDUM THIKDUM AGDUM BUGDUM'.

The above procedure comes with a statutory warning 'Such serious
listening is injurious to the country's foreign exchange reserves'.

Well, I had myself very clear that its all in good humour-n-without

The singer Ms.Indubala had filed a case against Naushad for
fraudulent use of her copyright song on HMV Record No: P10237. This
very Naushad Ali & Co. had later on, also sued for plagiarising their
song/music by the Producers of the Hollywood film, starring Rita
Hayworth, titled : " Loves of Carmen"... in the Hindi film song : Lara
loo lara loo... By Shamshad & chorus in JADOO ('51).

Ha ha ha....what a joke...what a joke you have cracked.

Why have you drifted away from the subject under hot discussion? I
have provided DOCUMENTED EVIDENCE for all RMIMers .

All of you have NO ANSWERS to my documented evidence on Naushad's
vagaries...which he has never disclosed in his INTERVIEWS anywhere.

Despite all that, his music ,in general , can be classified as : JUST
OK. But MD: Sajjad Hussain's version spews more venom, I guess.
Rmimers are in a better position to tell about that.

Now how about answering an old question by Abhay Jain - what is the
bit rate you use when you record your FLAC files to your C-90 tapes
for your listening sessions?

I am certain that the song will be available on Prof's web
one day . Atleast one RMIM'er who responded by personal
email claims to have the disc . I am not sure about it's presence
in your collection . If you have and heard the song please answer
me - which instrument is most dominating in this song ?

I heard the song on SLBC many a times .

Yes, as you-n-others have stated, SLBC has in its library ONLY ONE
record of SOHNI MAHIWAL and thats this record-song you have mentioned.
They keep on playing this record alti-palti frequently, I guess so.

Unfortunately, thats the only HMV record thats NOT in my library so
far - all the other records of that film I have.Whats the point in
posting anything if I don't have the record! Its in NA's voice.

It is not in Naseem Akhtar's voice .
It is Zora Bai Ambalawale's voice with chorus .
You know very little about the music of 1940's .
So Jay Goodbye to you , not worthy of interacting .

Thank you, Jay.

As C mentioned above, that agrees with Geet Kosh, except that the
lyricist is Swami Ramanand (not Swarni).
