Hey, good luck with the upcoming Delhi program!

No Bangalore stop during this trip?

Thanks! No, not this time...just getting the hang of how much we can
pull off with a 4 year-old kid in tow. Maybe next time!

The program went off very well. I attended it. Sanjeev and Armeen were
in fine fettle. In particular I enjoyed "Main nigaahen tere chehre
se" (from Aap ki parchhaiyaan) and Jhoole mein pawan ki aayi bahaar
( Baiju baawra).
Sanjeev brought the house down with his superb rendition of "aaj gawat
man mero jhoomke" from Baiju Bawra ( Pt.Amir Khan).

Surprisingly, not many in the audience were previously aware of him or
his (considerable) talents . Instead of introducing him by describing
his multitude of musical talents ( golden voice, proficiency in
western, carnatic, hindustani music, string instruments, percussions )
and his impressive array of awards, the compere kept harping on the
usual inanities like "amreeka mein rehta hai par dekho kitna achcha
gaata hai" type stuff.. But all in all - no complaints - it was a
great show.

Those in Delhi, I encourage you to go and attend the show there.

regards
Ramesh

Thanks Ramesh! The compere certainly had a *unique* style...but to be
honest many elements of the program arrangements were outside our
control, and so many came together at the last minute so I didn't give
a proper thought to bios/introductions.

The Delhi shows are in just a couple days now, hope to see some of you
there (these will feature Armeen and me exclusively, unlike the Bombay
show where there was another pair of singers on the stage).

Congratulations on a well-presented and well-received show. Was it
recorded (audio or video). If it was, then could I ask you, on behalf
of those like me who weren't lucky enough to hear you in person, to
put up some of the recording somewhere like YouTube?

Yes. am very eager to hear it too.

Mitwaa is a song that I never liked and no one I know ever hummed it
or sang it. In fact in the long years of listening to film personality
interviews the only person who ever praised that song as one they
liked was Javed Akhtar. even then when I heard it I did not like it
too much.

But then when I listened to your rendition I realised that a song is
not great because you can sing it :) rather it is great because it is
great. what a rendition. so which was the mitwa of this concert? A
song which I know in passing but dont like too much. But your
rendition makes me fall in love with it

I wonder!

eagerly looking forward to it

Regards,

Ravi
