I doubt that will happen (the channel would not permit it). None of
the earlier programmes in the Total Recall series are available on YT
or even on their own web site.
It was a very ordinary programme. Half the programme focused on Raj
Kapoor and Shammi Kapoor's films. The fact is that a very large amount
of their best creative work was not associated with either of them.
Perhaps, no good expert advice was given to them.
Nothing about films like Seema, Halaku, Love Marriage, Main Nashe Mein
Hoon, Mayur Pankh, New Delhi, Basant Bahar (just a few seconds of
visual and sound), Kathputli, Daag, Nagina, Chhoti Bahen, Amrapali and
Shararat. Even some 70s films with excellent music like Sanyasi and Do
Jhoot were totally ignored. No mention of some outstanding individual
songs from other films. They should have devoted less time allotted to
the Kapoor brothers.
No mention about the great contribution of Sebastian and Dattaram.
Some passing references to Hasrat Jaipuri and Shailendra.
The only redeeming feature is that Shankar Jaikishan were actually
included in their Total Recall series.

"Excellent" music? I am curious to know which song(s) from either film
led to your use of this adjective. The songs that I can recall from
these films (chal sanyaasii mandir me.n, karm kiye jaa, chhatrii na
khol) qualify - IMO, of course - for adjectives at the other end of
the spectrum.

The plaintive "merii maa.N mujhe bachaa lo" is one part of Sanyasi's
music that I most identify with.

Today, the birth aniiversary of Mohammad Rafi, NDTV India (Hindi news
channel) paid tributes to him.
Some two weeks back, Times Now TV featured Shamshad Begum in their
Total Recall Series.
Again on NDTV India, Vinod Dua generally telecasts a song from the 50s/
60s (around 8-20 PM) in his programme 'Vinod Dua Live' Mondays to
Thursdays.

Yes, but you really really missed Lal Patthar - that had excellent
music by Shankar Jaikishan and it's a 70s movie. There is another
movie which had good music by SJ in the 70s - the name eludes me, but
it had a nice Asha solo "ab hone lagi hai raat jawaan". This song won
her a filmfare award in 1972 and it is also included in the HMV
Legends collection of 85 songs by Asha.
