Yes. Both enna paaliso and kaayo karunanidhe are penned by Shri
Mahipati Dasaru . You can hear the signature "Guru Mahipati" in the
last stanza.

Thanks for the wonderful article... It was Pandit Ji's brilliant
Kalashree that turned me into a HCM afficionado years ago:)

In the above interview, JD asserts "...the self-composed raga,
Kalashree (combining Kalavati & Rageshree) " to Pandit Ji. and I
always thought so... However, Toronto Gharana's John Campana
expressed some doubts about it, as in:

Raag Kalashree was composed by Bhimsen Joshi. Amir Khan liked the raag
and is known to have sung it himself. I think I have read somewhere,
probably in Mohan Nadkarni's book on Bhimsen, that Amir Khan had
composed a tarana in Kalashree but I don't have the book with me now.
Apparently Amir Khan also used to tell his disciples that they should
first listen to a few mehfils by Bhimsen before starting to perform in
public. I think this story can also
be traced back to Nadkarni's book.

I don't know if Amir Khan actually sang Kalashree in public but he was
"inspired" enough to compose the tarana per Mohan Nadkarni's book.
Amir Khan also put a number on attendance "at least 25 times before
they would dare to ascend the concert platform"

Speaking of Bhimsen's creations how often did he sing Lalat Bhatiyar
in concert? Other than the magnificent LP version I haven't come
across it anywhere else, either by him or any of his disciples.

Dear Havanur,

At least I could remember some instances where Lalit Bhatiyar was
performed. I've a live recording of pandit ji's Lalit Bhatiyar from a
1986 concert. My mother still remembers his magnificent Lalit Bhatiyar
at the inauguration of Nagarkar Library (now defunct) at Hubli. My
grandfather who was an ardent music lover, recounts BJ's performance
of the raga in many concerts he attended.

Also, I have a radio recording of this raga by his disciple Madhav
Gudi, broadcast recently.

There is a commercially available Sitar rendition of Kalashree by Pt.
Nikhil Banerjee. (Chhanda Dhara SNCD 71096).

Could you repost it? The link seems to have expired. It is actually
Kalashree, not Jansanmohini (the one released by Maestro's Choice),
correct?
