Debi Prasad Chatterjee is an outstanding sitarist. For twenty years,
he
received training from the revered late Pt. Nikhil Banerjee. In 1986,
he became the disciple of world famous sarod maestro, Ustad Ali Akbar
Khan. He has performed in major concerts all over India and abroad.
Ray Spiegel is an accomplished tabla player based in the Hudson
Valley.
He trained under Ustad Alla Rakha and Zakir Hussain and is known for
both his Indian classical and jazz fusion recordings. He has played
with a number of top musicians Ustad Aashish Khan (Sarod), Pandit
Buddhadev Das Gupta (Sarod), Pandit Manilal Nag (Sitar) and
Barun Kumar Pal (slide guitar). Ray also teaches tabla, gives
lecture-demonstrations and has been awarded grants by the NEA and
Smithsonian. He has recorded a number of classical and fusion CDs:
