(why oh why) and only half of the dye took to my (black) hair, so I
looked like a fucking leopard.

Umlaut, my grammatically challenged friend.

And I thought it was a rather cute a attempt to add
some originality - or even glamour - to a rather un-
imaginative name.

That's like a minimum requirement for all Finns, isn't it? :)
4 umlauts at least or you're deported to Sweden.

Yes, and also have to drink too much. But that comes naturally.

Here are a few things:

The term "hatin'". Hip Hop is a culture of rooting out wackness. Now,
anytime anyone critiques an artist or style it's considering hating.
Total nonsense.

Rocking several head accesories. Namely, a doo-rag, a bandana, a
headband, and an oversized baseball cap simultaneously.

"The Uniform": this essentially is a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and the
hiking boot of your choice. Even on 100 degree days. And dumb kids
dancing to a song entitled "White Tees". Sad....

Kids thinking "going platinum" means an artist or group is really good.
SoundScan is not a barometer for dope beats and live rhymes.

Melding clearly R&B artists, like Usher and Alicia Keys, as "Hip Hop".

Thinking that rocking a rapper's high priced T-shirt as "Hip Hop
clothing". Only to turn around and wonder why you're being sweated on
line at "da club".

Thinking that a bumbling, homophobic "College Dropout" going against a
scripted speech, proving WHY he dropped out, articulated the pain of
millions of black people because he said Bush doesn't care about them as
being really deep and courageous.

And lastly, thinking that you may actually die this cycle if you don't
vote. Hilarious! Only to be slapped into reality yet again. Exercise
your constitutional right, but be sensible.

cosign all of these, except for the uniform one...

1) what's the problem with wearing white tees... a fresh white tee
looks clean as hell, and the fact that they're so cheap but can still
look so good, is one of the main reasons why the black community
adopted it as a 'uniform'...

it goes back to the whole method of making do on low income...
streetlights for powering block parties, milk crates for records
etc...

2) you might not like the White Tee song, but what makes kids dumb for
dancing or listening to it, and not My Adidas?

I think it was a cynical attempt to conquer the northern european market.

A to the L adds:

<<what's the problem with wearing white tees... a fresh white tee looks

good, is one of the main reasons why the black community adopted it as a

The problem is that there is nothing innovative in wearing a white
t-shirt and and the whole "community" looks like one big robot

<<it goes back to the whole method of making do on low income...

What you're saying here would be considered Hip Hop....making something
fresh from nothing. But that flies in the face of today's so-called Hip
Hop clothing.

<<2) you might not like the White Tee song, but what makes kids dumb for

I remember listening to "My Adidas", even "Walk This Way". But I don't
EVER remember kids dancing to them. "Run's House" and "Beats To The
Rhyme", yes, those two, no. What's makes them dumb is the robot syndrome
I mentioned. Just to wear a t-shirt ain't "fresh" or creative. In Hip
Hop circles, I would think, you'd take the t-shirt and made it into
something more than what it is. That thinking is what made it fresh.

I know I'm butting into an a and b conversation.....but I just think
it's interesting how simple things suddenly become "hip-hop fashion".
The white tees are popular mainly because they sell them for cheap on
the street. The same thing happened w/ Lee jeans back in the 80's.
They weren't orginally "hip-hop fashion". Everybody used to wear them
because they were cheaper than the other brands. Then RunDMC
mentioned them in a song and suddenly they became "hip-hop". Thing
is, everybody was wearing those jeans way before RunDMC came on the
scene. Same w/ Addidas. Same w/ the white tees.

Man, I wish I could flow worth a damn.....I'd write a song called "My
Pashmina" and then sit back and watch scarves become hip-hop.

I have to give quest some propz on the multiple headgear thing. Thast
fuckin' retarded.

I'd add gangstaz that wear pink, thugs with shirley locks, and
southside fades.

You might say I'm hatin' being from the Northside, but Southside fades
looked fuckin' retarded. If you dont know what it is - back in the
days when fades were big, guys on the Southside of Houston started
getting higher and higher fades. It got to a point where dudes would
just have a lil patch of hair on the front of their head faded out. We
used to laugh and call them KeKes.
