so it is officially released then? i just remembered this the other
day, and saw the listing on amazon, but was a little skeptical that a
clipse record had actually dropped after less than a year of delays.

i'll have to pick this up over the weekend.

so no one here's actually listened to it yet? i heard what i'm guessing
is the single on the radio the other night. didn't do much for me, but
i'm holding out hope that the album tracks are better.

It's sitting next to me, but not on top of the stack.
What seems odd is the absence of pictures and
the somewhat simplistic cover artwork.

Copped yesterday (first rap cd since freeway and mddlfngz that I
bothered with) and gave one listen in my rowdy ass house while
drinking with a couple peeps. Not bad on first listen but I could
barely pay attention with the ruckus going on. Seems kinda soft on
the surface, with the KAWS artwork and the embracing of the pharell/
kanye fagwagon. Will give another listen at work today and try to get
a good enough read to judge it as the preceding was an incredibly
superficial assessment.

also, their whole career's been pretty inextricable from pharell anyway,
right? how's this different?

i wanted to pick it up this afternoon, but it's raining and i'd have to
drive across town then come back home and get a shitty parking spot. so
i'll probably get it after work tomorrow.

I meant they're kinda catering to the kanye/pharell/lupe/cudi aspect
of hiphop fandom. Clipse is sposed to be HARD. Like Ice Cube, not
like common. Not to say clipse has gone soft, but I kinda get the
vibe that it's begun.

i had heard that track a couple months ago, i just hadn't replied yet, i
got it.

so i listened to the first half. i'll listen to the second half
tomorrow, it's almost 1, and i can't play it as loud as i'd want because
i have roommates who have to be to work at a reasonable hour.

i like it so far. defnitely not as much as the second one, but i could
see it being as good as the first. "popular demand" is my favorite
track so far, and i like "there was a murder" (despite the trying to be
subtle fake jamaican accent, the beat, flow, the content are all great).
"door man" seems like a not-as-good "hello new world", but i'm not
sure that i hold that against it. it's a good track in its own right.

Have been playing it in the IPod for a couple of days. Jury is still out on
this one. Definitely not as good as HHNF but might grow on me over the
weekend.
