Thanks for the recommendation. I just saw Bruno . . . holy shit did I
laugh out loud a lot!! Very very funny, but be warned, if the idea of
homosexuality offends you, you'll hate it. If you got the right kind
of sense of humor, it don't get any funnier!
Also just saw 2012. Not the best storyline, but the special effects
were just stellar. Caught it in a new, "digital" theater, and it was a
lot of fun. At times it felt like an amusement park ride.
Not all that funny, but any list of good movies of recent note, imo,
would have to include Baader Meinhof Complex, This is England, and
Hunger..
On a lighter note, looking forward to Wes Anderson's Fantastic Mr Fox.
Haven't seen Pirate Radio yet, but look forward to checking it out,
and agree, that Bruno is pretty damn funny.
I saw Baader Meinhof Complex, that is one baadass movie. Great stuff,
lots of good movies out there these days. A Serious Man is also
excellent, prob my favorite Coen Brothers since Fargo.
True that, Serious Man is a must see movie, and a fine addition to an
already simply amazing body of work!
I love the Coen Brothers and A Serious Man is on my list to see. I
hadn't even heard of Baader Meinhof Complex, This is England or
Hunger. Just looked them up and I now have all three on my radar, so
thanks for that. Pirate Radio was already on my radar, almost saw that
one yesterday, but picked 2012 instead. This is England sounds like a
more modern day version of Quadrophenia! With a little bit of American
History X thrown in.
Well, I want to see Serious Man, but it isn't playing in San
Bernardino County. I'd have to leave my desert lair and go down to
Temecula.
Saw The Men Who Stare at Goats. I liked it MK-ULTRA references and
all.
What took you so long?
Just saw another good one: The Messenger, nuanced, powerful and at
times surprisingly funny, 20 minutes too long like most movies these
days but that's my only complaint.
Yeah, me too.

"The Informant" was a rather interesting story.
