I cant think of another city that has produced

The Dead's 69 Tea Party shows, hell, many great GD and related shows
inthe area!
Fleetwood mac, Tea Party..
And, ummm, yeah, The V.U., also at the Tea Party.
Butthole Surfers, many different venues.
Early Sonic Youth shows at the Rar, and Channel.
Flipper through down pretty hard in Boston.
So did the Bad Brains, kids fucked shit up in a big way when these
cats were in town1
Many brain frying Sun Ra gigs.
Fahey, The Fall, early Black Flag, The Contortions, way too many mind
frazzling shows to mention.
I'm a bit worse for Reefer, but weren't The Modern Lovers, Galaxie
500, The Lyres, Mission of Burma, La Peste, and Gang Starr less than
40 years ago?

I don't remember Tyler writing with Warren. What song are you
speaking of? Generally, the process works like this: the record
company tells the band that they don't have a hit; then they call up
Diane Warren and ask her for a song; and then the band records it.

Rumor has it that Tyler broke his shoulder on tour and nobody in the
band or in managment gave a shit. They told him that the show must go
on. The guy is well into his 60s now and finished a tour with a broken
bone. The rest of the band should sell their houses in New Hampshire and
try to make a living without their lead singer, they suck as musicians
and apparently they are miserable human beings. Fuck them, my only
consolation is that I never spent a cent on their music after 1986.

This is from the article - is this what you are referring to? It looks
like they cancelled the tour. I could give a hoot either way - after
Rocks I don't bother listening to them.
The 61-year-old Tyler was injured when he fell off a stage during an
Aug. 5 performance in South Dakota, and the band canceled the
remainder of its summer tour.

Plenty of great nights at The Willow Jazz Club (some especially smoking
shows with Mike Stern and Bill Evans in the early 80s), Ryles (saw
Metheny there a few times with his brother, Mike), 1369 (Frisell had a
weekly afternoon gig there for a while), etc.
Black Uhuru did an epic show with King Sunny Ade at the old Hynes
Convention Center in 1984.
Of course, the GD at the Boston Music Hall was always a treat, saw them
there in 76 and 78.
As far as bands from Boston go, well, it was a little shaky in the
mainstream, but there was always a great string of local bands of all
kinds of genres and some great local jazz going on. There's a lot I miss
about Boston, but scuffling to make it as a local musician is not one of
them.

They really do sound like a bunch of wankers but I've thought that for
30+ years. Frankly, I never liked them all the much to begin with,
fucking Toys in the Attic was inescapable anywhere within 300 miles of
Boston in 1976 or so and they were every douchebag in town's favorite
