any recent DSO show reviews?

I know that posting this subject is likely to get me a bunch of un-
kind replies about how much DSO sucks and how I'm pathetic for going
to see them, but...
Anyone seen the recent run of shows? Any reviews, or quick thoughts?
I'm going to catch them in Lowell MA tomorrow night, so I'm just
wondering how they've been recently, given the upcoming change at lead
guitar, etc.

9:30 Club DC last friday, they just killed it, a completely awesome
performance from A to Z. The show was 6/27/76 which was perfect, I
love the 76 shows with H>S>F in the middle of the second set. The
Sugar Mag was one of the best I've ever seen and that includes the
Grateful Dead. You are going to have a seriously great time.

Man, I don't know what's more pathetic, the fact that these poseurs
exist, the fact that poor schlubs like you go to see them, or the fact
that I just listened to this Sugaree from the Matson show from
Princeton that's up on archive. Prolly the latter.
Seriously, though, on the little bit I'm hearing, and I hope this
doesn't cause poor Donny to bust a blood vessel, Jeff sounds better
than JK, especially given the F stuff I've heard sandwiched in
between, which has accurately been described as tentative. I imagine
that will improve with a little time and seasoning.

Good luck with the phish thing. My exposure to them has gone way up
since someone at work has gone and gotten obsessed with them, and
while I can appreciate the music better, I hate the lyrics and the
singing more than ever and have that much more to hate. While there
would certainly be parts of the show I would definitely enjoy, I don't
think I could stand a whole outing.

Doug, you lucky bastard. Getting to see all this fucking music, and
here we have a 13,000 seat arena http://panam.nmsu.edu/pac.html
about two miles or less from my house. Janis works the doors for
special events, and who the hell have they had there? Let's see, they
had Deathklok, but High on Fire only played for a half fucking hour.
Then, we get the musical treat of kelly clarkson. And then guess
what, the Trans-siberian orchestra, blah. the only saving grace so far
this year is there's a rumor that the Red Hot Chili peppers will be
playing here. And warped tour is always here in the summer. And Janis
will be promoted by then and have lamnents. Talk about fucking
sucking.
Youknow, PanAm Center would be a perfect venue for Further. And our
football stadium is used for outdoor concerts too. Fuck anybody
talking to Further they need to come to New Mexico. They have medical
marijuana. Our campus cops cool and mellow. No huge traffic jams.
We're at the corner of I10 and I25. And the beer store that sells
reasonable beer is a mile and the venues sell alcohol.

Hi, Janis. It's nice of you to type Logy's posts for him and all, but,
maybe if you are going to go half-way, the whole mile might be a good
idea and you could edit for content, too. Afterall, this little bit of
oversharing here, while sure to bring requests for "pictures, please,"
is maybe not your best move. Then again, it's your career, so do what
you gotta.

I think you'll find their music to be on par with what you were
listening to 10 years ago, and better than what was being played
before they hiatused.

was just giving him a little ribbing about being where he lives on the
east coast and able to see shows.
Apparently you're unfamiliar with these things called University or
this other thing called Entertainment Industry.
Janis career. Linguistic Anthropology. Local crew, special events = a
college job. Are you familiar when you go to a University the
University hires students for different postions. Or is the only time
you've been on the grounds of an institution of higher learning was to
sell drugs to somebody?
It's one of the perks that come with the job. It's called walk
throughs. And, Just so you know where I'm coming from, three or four
hours after I made this post about the arena, it's size, blah, blah,
blah, somebody comes on and posts Furthers tour, which I was unaware,
but holy fuck they're playing a bunch of shows on Universities with
venues about our size here, but what the fuck do I know about it.
HUH? I've only been involved in it for 30 fucking years dumb ass.

Fine and dandy. But, before we proceed, who am I speaking to here,

I assure you I am not unfamiliar with either, but you, though you
mention it here, are apparently unfamiliar with this ribbing thing you
speak of. Between the two of you, I really expect ya to harness enough

Anthropology would seem to demand some ability to parse a text, no?

Ok, let me throw some breadcrumbs down so you two can find your way
out of the forest in time for dinner.
Here's the statement I was ribbing ya about: "And Janis will be
promoted by then and have lamnents. Talk about fucking sucking.
Put an "and" in there and ya get "fucking and sucking" Connect that to
the part about getting the promotion and having "lamnents," and you
have a dumb joke about, er engaging in extracurricular activities to
"earn" the promotion. Hence, the bit about oversharing and doing what
ya gotta do for the "career" move. It's sixth-grade stuff, as we are
often told, but rmgd is our little playground, so there ya go.
