Talk about weird... This festival is in my tiny, tiny little hometown of
Manchester, TN... With the biggest lineup of washed-up performers I could ever
possibly imagine, and a $60 or so ticket price to boot... Good luck, if you're
going :)

Whoa!! I just checked out the lineup and had a really harsh flashback! The
NELSONS? My daughter had their CD on repeat until I started Uzi shopping.
Some of the bands sound intriguing; the whole list reads like a Where Are
They Now marathon. I'd be curious to hear if Leslie West still has any
kung fu left. BTW, the website says the tix are $80; maybe you get a
discount if you skip Christopher Cross and Bobby Sherman (?!?!?!?).

What do you mean by "washed up?" If you mean that these artists – many
in their 40s and 50s – are still on the road, performing their hits,
making people who crave *real* music happy, and not sitting at home
sulking and wondering why tastes in music have changed (for the worst I
might add), I think they’re all doing a wonderful service to
humankind. "Washed up" would signify that these people are no longer
able to play, sing, write, or all perhaps all three. The fact that
they are all bonding together to perform at this festival (and $60 for
three days is not too extreme……..especially since most of today’s
"sheds" charge just about that much for one ticket to one show) says a
lot about the popularity of the musical era that made these artists
popular. In my mind, it was one of the best, if not the best, time for
American-made music.
By the way, Essra Mohawk rocks. She's incredible.
Cheers!
