Also interesting what he has to say about vinyl. And speaking of
vinyl, my 25-year-old tuner got a little smushed in my most recent
move and is slowly dying a horrible and statickey death. Do they
still make tuners with turntable inputs? Do they still even call them
"tuners"? I presume DJs use them, but I haven't looked at components
in so long that I have no idea what's out there, what's good. Mind
you, I haven't even moved up to HDTV, Blue Ray or surround sound -
and can't really afford to in this economic climate! - but if anyone
has a recommendation, I'd love to hear it.

And, yes, they still exist and they don't cost a fortune. And, you get
a lot more wattage for a lot less money than you used to. Here's a

As far as HDTV, BluRay and surround sound go, all three have gotten
much less expensive than they used to be.
