Found some interesting vinyl recently while on a weekend trip.

First of all there was a solo album by Rose Banks (Motown 1976),
who I believe is Sly Stone's sister.  She married Hamp "Bubba"
Banks, who co-produced this album and produced Sly's "Back On
The Right Track" album a few years later.  The actual producer
on Rose's album is Jeffrey Bowen, of Invictus and Motown fame.
It features Freddy Stone and the one and only Truman Thomas.
I ended up not buying this album because it would have been
$12 for a so-so copy or $20 for a sealed copy, and I listened
to it in the store: mostly weak tracks, plus versions of "I Get
High On You" (from Sly's "High On You" album) and "A Whole New
Thing" (which turned up on Billy Preston's "Whole New Thing"
album.)

I did, however, get "Rattlesnake" by the Ohio Players for $5!
Yes!  Gimme some Rooster Poot!  I also got Sugarfoot's mid-80's
solo album, produced by Roger Troutman!

The other thing I found which might be of interest is a 12"
single with K-9 Corps ("Dog Talk") on the A-side.  The B-side
is an instrumental version of "Man's Best Friend" (around
6:30+) that seems to be mostly one long guitar solo by
Eddie Hazel.  I only listened to this briefly before I sent
it off into storage for a month or two, but it sounded
amazing -- a lot of the guitar work that turns up on the
"Atomic Clinton" cassette, plus some extra licks besides.
