Does anyone have a copy of the BBC Radio Ballads / Birmingham Ballads
entitled "A Cry from the Cut" by Charles Parker please?

A Cry from the Cut - about the Midlands canal network.

made a year apart, by Parker, with music by Campbell (and John Chapman
in the former case), without the involvement of MacColl or Seeger, an
broadcast, according to Campbell, "to critical acclaim", then
"consigned… to permanent oblivion."

There should be a copy held by the Birmingham Archives and Heritage Service.

They claim to have *everything* taped, written or edited by Charles
Parker. Go to:-

We are seeking the Radio Ballad version of the same name - "A Cry from
the Cut" - with Ian Campbell.

There are many threads of discussion about the Radio Ballads on
Mudcat.org - its seems that this is the one programme that many want
to hear. It seems that even Ian Campbell doesn't have a copy.

The six originals are still on BBC iPlayer (if you know where to
look).

I must have heard them then then. I distinctly recall a song about
the wife in the butty, and another about hammering in the night.
