Once we feared The Board which decreed, yes indeed,
Faith equals fact in school -
But how could we fight for the right and the need
To keep science a working tool?
The Board only snored, called our proofs only spoofs,
At a fact, they would haw and hem -
Now the Flying Spaghetti Monster makes them quake, no mistake:
Lobby for the FSM! ...
Room for His Meatballs right and left - feel their heft -
Shout it out in bio class and chem -
Let His Noodly Appendage touch our youth with His truth:
"Equal time" for the FSM!
Pastafarians must pass, lad and lass, science-class,
By telling of the Monster's might -
When we say DNA is spaghetti, as we may,
We must hear, day by day, "Quite right" -
For daily you proclaim, with no shame, that the same
Time and teaching to all ideas belong -
Let the science in your scheme add our dream to that theme:
"Equal time," be we right or wrong!
Speak it to the publishers and holier-than-thous!
Shout it out in bio class and chem!
They must bow to our belief where "equal time" is chief:
"Equal time" for the FSM!
Must we teach with equal ease any wheeze that may please?
Must no fact show where thought went wrong?
If so, then we know that the road where this goes
Is no road to go along!
Without the plan of man, life unfurled in the world,
Not as the creeds have guessed -
That this happened, we can show: how we learned what we know
Must be taught, and not finessed!

two days after we put on the closing program
for our summer Wednesday night kids' program,
which was an interpretation of the Creation.
