I distinctly remember reading that Cold Iron was being rerelased on
CD, but I can't find any mention of it now. Was it just a rumour? I
hope not - I've been looking forward to it for weeks now :)

"Serious Steel" is available on CD, if that helps. <smile/>

Cold Iron was released at Consonance in March. Along with a new Joe
Bethancourt CD and Crystal Memories.

Cold Iron is available from at least the following (and likely MORE)
dealers -

Random Factors (publisher) and filk dealer - random-factors.com
Tales from the White Hart (talwhi at earthlink dot net) (email only)
Dag (AKA filk.com)

Thanks! I did check the Random Factors and Dag websites, but neither
one listed it.

I have that :) I've been eagerly awaiting the CD release of Cold Iron
and The Undertaker's Horse to complete my collection.

Random Factors has not updated their web page in over 5 years. They
DO respond to emails semi quickly.

Kathy (White Hart) I know is online since she wrote to me earlier
today about her CD that is going to the duplicator later this week.
(As soon as I mail the audio in (likely mailing tomorrow) and the
cover is finished with the person she has contracted to do the work.)

Cold Iron is indeed out on CD, and if you're interested, I'm selling it.

This has been a semi-formal announcement from Southern Fried Filk - - - good
music you've not heard of . . . YET!

Which version of the album, the original, or the remake?

1983 version. I think even from the same master tapes, but I am not
100% sure about that. I know Mary Creasey was talking with Jeff
Rogers last summer at LACon IV. (Interesting conversation next to
their dealer's table.)

Yes, the CD is out. I do normally sell the CD on my website but I'm
out until I run over to Random Factors and pick up some more.
