Officially, we had 23.2" of snow. I know that a lot of other
places had even more, but I'm fortunate enough to be in those other
places. This was plenty.

Title: Dry Christmas
ttto: White Christmas

I'm dreaming of a dry Christmas
Just like we usually have
The snow is comely
But I plod numbly
From hours of shoveling the snow

I'm dreaming of a dry Christmas
With every twinge and ache and pain
May you need not shovel and sprain
And may all precip be just as rain

It's not a real bizzard until you see people cross-country skiing right
over the tops of buried cars. (1978, Boston.)

I'm dreaming of a Dune Christmas
One without rain, or dew, or snow
One where old Kris Kringle and sandworms mingle
And all the water's stored below...

I'm dreaming of a Dune Christmas

And drinking down a Spicy brew each noon.
I hope that we can party there real soon.
And spend all our holidays on Dune.

Oh.

When I saw the title, I was thinking more of a certain Presley song...

I'll have a dry Christmas without booze
I'll have a dry Christmas without booze
A Christmas with gin would be so full of win
But I'll have a dry, dry Christmas

What can I say.. Unlike the protagonist in the Niven et-al version of
"The Inferno" I'm in no danger of drinking too much and falling out the
con-suite window to my death.

You see.. I don't like the taste of booze. .Never have, and thus, About
all I can take is one drink.. After that the taste buds say ENOUGH!

So, rather than torture them.. I stick to coffee.
