LAFA health updates

[Lee Gold]

Mara Brener had her surgery on her heart valves (between the heart and
the rest of the blood vessels, not inside the heart) about a month ago,
went home a few days later, and seems to be recovering uneventfully.

Jan Kelson has been in the hospital for some weeks, in and out of the
ICU. The doctors finally got around to noticing that the reason her
wounds never healed was diabetes. She's got an enlarged kidney (and a
cyst on the other kidney). Her lungs may be damaged, and she's on a
ventilator. She's being fed by IV. Heather Stern says she'll keep me
updated (and I've got a working email address for her). Jan wrote some
wonderful filksongs, though she hasn't been healthy enough in recent
years to show up at filksings.

Barry and I are fine.
