Couperin (Parishes), Grigny, Giga= ult, etc., were performed with chant alternating with the organ versets, ge= nerally beginning with Kyrie Omnipotens genitor. The chants are available i= n any Liber usualis, but I'm looking for the versions current in Paris in t= he 17c--they were often sung in measured rhythm, and it's obvious from the = sections quoted in the plein jeu versets that the notes were different as w= ell.=20 It's strange that I've not been able to find editions of organ masses tha= t include this chant, or articles on French organ masses that reproduce the= chant from French chant-books. Does anyone have such versions? =20 --Warren Steel
