Re: Music for "Moonrise Kingdom."
This is one of those things that I should know, and should be embarrassed to ask, but I'm mystified by this, and need help; there is a new film coming out (with Bill Murray and a bunch of other well known actors), called "Moonrise Kingdom." The commercials for this film are showing on tv all the time, and the music behind it is some orchestral piece which is very familiar -- I've played it before -- but which I cannot identify for some reason. I hesitate to say whether it's even baroque or classical (or romantic??).
Anyone recognize that tune?
TIA

It's the theme statement from Benjamin Britten's
"Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra", Op. 34
(1946), which is a set of variations and fugue
on the Rondeau from Henry Purcell's incidental
music to Aphra Behn's play, "Abdelazer" (1695).

Thank you! Thus my inability to determine the style period; it's a 20th century work based on a baroque theme.
