What always puzzled me about this album was how a young, energetic performer
was so fixated on death themed songs."

Often the words and his affect did not match: these death songs instead of
being funeral dirges came across as joyous shout outs. I have always wanted
to sing along with most of the album.

Even though this didn't sell so well at first, it is far from being a
clunker and is much better then many entries of Bob's catalogue.

An interesting enough read, even if it smacks of a publication
including obligatory bob content.

As to No.3, it used to be a joke that there have been several bob
dylans, and that the first one was left-handed and chubbyfaced. Two
albums later he was replaced with a right-handed and gaunt bob dylan.
Let's don't start on the dylan substitute post-accident.

No.8, well most all of the participants in the Great Folk Scare had
immersed themselves in Harry's collection. Nothing new there.

No.19, Coen Bros. are also working up a film or movie about the Great
Folk Scare, "Inside Llewyn Davis". From what i understand, it's based
on van Ronk, but bobby may show up characterwise. Scheduled release
nov13 *per IMDB*.

No.20, i initially responded kneejerkly to the description of
Jefferson Starship until i recognised the *former* in *former
hairspray-rockers*.

The various iterations of Kantner bands were among the most resistant
to corporate marketing strategies, and among the truest to *artistic
values*, whatever that means.
