I love the 'funny bob' montage floating around youtube that uses this
song.

Note that the Barrett solo albums were produced by David Gilmoure, and that
Barrett was in full blown schizophrenia during the making of the album. His
playing and singing was, shall we say, erratic, and many takes and overdubs
were required to get each track down. And those were the days that Sid
bothered to show up at the studio.

In spite of these problems there is some good stuff on the solo albums
(Octopus, Terrapin), though Bob Dylan Blues isn't one of them. He sounds
totally out of it.

The video of the last performance is eye opening. I'd heard about it, but
didn't know such a video existed. He looks terrible and barely aware of what
is happening around him. So sad to see such a talent wasted. I miss him.

He's not without his charm and deserving of praise. But Pink Floyd
improved significantly with his replacement. They went from choppy
and chaotic to a smooth and organized madness. IMO of course.

Totally agree! They wouldn't be the mighty Floyd they're viewed as today if
Syd had remained! Roger would have probably moved on and still given us his
classics though!
