I wish it were on youtube already because this one, on the Rolling Stone
site, is too small for me to really see.

I've never been a fan of Dylan videos, but this is the best one I've
ever seen. How do I get a blu-ray copy?

I get confused about the multiple Dylans because I can't see from the
small screen just who is who. But I'm impressed.

I like this one for it's idol worship:
http://www.youtube.com/user/BobDylanTV#p/u/15/igMaEw3SJuk

This one because it was the first ever rock video to copy De La Soul:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgC77nc22ec

and this one because it was filmed near where I used to live. Notice
that there is a false start on the audio track that was removed for
the album version:

Hokey nonsense - it makes the song worse, and trust me, the song has
always had problems.

What a coincidence that the opening credits scene on Pennebaker's movie
is so much better than any Bob Dylan video shot for one of his songs.

Nay.

Yea, verily i say unto Thee.

This a-hear is Genius.

On my home from work i was reading an article that said that it's
essential in the workplace to understand that not everyOne believes
the same stuff, and how i might be fraught with danger for playing an
audio cassette tape of Christmas Holiday songs.

I'd buy into that except that my coWorker, nonOrthodox muslim,
immediately went to an internet channel and started playing All
Christmas All the Time.

Initial thoughts:

Who's that playing squeezebox?

Is that the same wig bob wore at Newport a few years back?

Would it've been funnyer if bob, instead of reading from a songBook,
had a telePrompter?

The young woman descending the staircase: is that sexist?

When bob proffers 2 bottles, is that condoning alcoholism, or is it
authentic (btw, i've got a red cap just like that), or does it signify
"take drink, this is my blood shed for Thee (twice).?

The guy that swings from the chandelier (definitely no behaviour to
engage in at the Office Party, along with Lampshade on the Head), is
he someone Famous i shd know?

Finally, who's the guy at the end that bob nods to?

This is a true Hoot in the Heart.

I don't mean to belittle any Faith.

But i'd gladly start with anyone where Faith begins in the Heart &
grows larger & larger & larger until it encompasses all of human
existence inclusively.

Then dogma take the hindmost.

Most inspired hubcap theft I ever a-heard about. Each one carted off
lovingly in a velvet sack and represented to us in a charitable
service kind of way. His love and respect for each of those hubcaps,
and the vehicles they were lifted off of, is quite obvious.

It wouldn't be a rock video without some image of a pretty young woman
showing a lot of leg.

But please don't comment on sexism in rmd. It seems some people are
awfully hung up on the concept and are unable to discuss the issue
without having conniptions. Only a fool would think he has something to
protect.

Only the American version's profits go to Feeding America; there are
several other charities being selected for receipt of international
sale's profits. I think the original press release mentions this, as
do several news sources.

charities have been selected for ROW distributions. If anyone knows

Bob Dylan to release Christmas album for charity

UNITED NATIONS (AP): International royalties from Bob Dylan's first
Christmas album will be donated to the World Food Program to feed
hungry people around the world, the UN agency announced Thursday.

"Christmas in the Heart" will be released Oct. 13, Columbia Records
has said.

Every 25 cents that goes to the World Food Program can buy a cup of
porridge for a school child at a time when hunger threatens the lives
of 108 million people worldwide, said Josette Sheeran, the UN agency's
executive director.

Dylan had previously announced that US royalties would go to the
American organization Feeding America. It is estimated that will help
feed 1.4 million U.S. families during the holidays.

All international royalties in perpetuity will go to the World Food
Program, the UN group said, except for British royalties, which will
go to the relief agency Crisis UK.

The 68-year-old Dylan said in a statement: "That the problem of hunger
is ultimately solvable means we must each do what we can to help feed
those who are suffering and support efforts to find long-term
solutions."

I am LOVING this video! Giving and sharing inspired by a berserk

laughing a lot in bemusement as well as amusement: it's all good.

Speaking of international versions, I find the Youtube version of the Santa
video is unavailable in Australia because of "copyright restrictions". I
hope no one in the northern hemisphere has bought the rights to Santa
himself.

In the meantime we will content ourselves with "Six White Boomers" (an
inexplicable omission from Christmas in the Heart):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hlSsffF2xhA

This was the first song I ever heard on a modern record player: people we
visited for Christmas had indulged themselves in the luxury of a record
player and _one_ single to play on it. We were envious. My grandmother had
a wind-up record player for 78s, but that didn't count.

I have to admit I did this video... must be the decidedly secular aura
it confers on the entire off-the-wall enterprise... Chanukah never gets

Are you saying you haven't seen this?

Fumff(f). That's decidedly unfair, and goes against the Christmas
Spirit, even if celebrated in the dead of summer. All real dylna fans
should have a look at this.

If not, i asked my neighbour down the hill to upload to U2B:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmabPq0N-_Y

See if that works.

If not, and you have broadbandwidth available or a lot of time on your
hands, for a short time (i'll delete it sometime after "New Year's
Day"), here's a downloadable .mp4 (33.8MB):
http://www.mediafire.com/file/mouylzmzlhz/Bob Dylan - Must Be
Santa.mp4

This file should be playable in Quicktime, the free player for which
is available in either Mac or PC format, if no other.

In either case, the video quality stands in "fullscreen" mode, which i
recommend.

If you have not replied to this post by American Thnaksgiving day, i
will reply to you directly.

This is a mustSee.

Dear Donald,

See if that works.

This is a mustSee.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks very much for this, dudley. For some reason the video did become
available here on Youtube after a few days. I hadn't encountered that
problem on Youtube before, but I suppose the more official a video's release
is the more likely it is to run into copyright issues. Maybe it had
something to do with the fact that it was produced by what looks and sounds
to be an Australian company, Bluetongue Films, named after one of these:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue-tongued_lizard . They might have other
arrangements in Australia.

Thanks for the other links as well. The irreverent Rolf Harris version of
Stairway to Heaven was just one of the many versions on the TV show "The
Money or the Gun", which featured a different version every week -- more of
which can be found here:
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=money+gun+stairway&search_type=&aq=f

Anyway, glad to have seen the Santa video one way or the other. It has made
me look forward to Christmas more than I have for years.

Donald
