My wife gave me CITH for Christmas.

I love it.

"Must Be Santa" worth it on it's own.

It was certainly a big presence in our holiday festivities. We played
it on the way to grandma's, played it opening presents, played it
looking at all the christmas lights around town... Bob succeeded in
creating a timeless holiday staple that will likely outsell his
classic albums eventually.

I can't help smiling listening to it. Plus, his homely voice is a perfect
match for the nostalgic melodies.

I have to admit I liked it a lot more than I expected to, based on the
previews that were available on Amazon. But I read so many subsequent
good reviews i decided to get it. (I knew i would eventually, being
the obsessive completist that I am.) It's grown on me. I think It
Must be Santa Claus is the strongest cut.

I can't stop singing "who's got a big red cherry nose" in a raspy
voice.

Well, as much as I love the album...let's be honest here...his voice
sounds like Dr. John with a sore throat in most of the songs, but his
obvious enthusiasm for the songs makes up for it.

I didn't follow the thread on the latest iteration of this song. But now
that I've put the Christmas music away, including Dylans fabulous
contribution, I have to make this observation on the best song on the album.

Doesn't it sound like Lily, Rosemary & The Jack of Hearts?, which I always
thought of us western swing influenced, but now sounds like Polka inspired
as well. I almost feel like getting some polka music, who is the Woody
Gutherie or Blindy Willie McTell for this genre.

You could try scanning Theme Time Radio Hour for Bob Wills and quite a
few other Western Swing stuff that's on there
