Pete Schlegel Saved His Drummer's Life
www.SALF.org
www.PeteSchlegel.com
While preparing for a show in Hagerstown, Maryland, Pete Schlegel saved his
drummer's, Rich Lininger's, life using the Heimlich Maneuver. After
completing sound check, Schlegel, his band, and crew had dinner at a local
restaurant. As Lininger laughed at a comment from the table, Schlegel
recalls, "He sucked [a piece of steak] down his throat. The piece of meat
became lodged in the airway...I was on the opposite end of the table. I
looked down and saw my drummer stand up and [he] started bending over."
Schlegel recognized Lininger's life was in danger." Keyboard player, Jeff
King, attempted the Heimlich maneuver but failed. Within seconds Schlegel
was at his drummer's side saying, "Let me try." Schlegel delivered the famed
life saving upward thrust just above the diaphragm causing the lodged piece
of meat to catapult out of the victim's airway. Schlegel recalls, "It just
shot out and ironically he [Lininger] extended his hand and caught it."
Schlegel's extensive Emergency Medical Services (EMS) experience as an EMS
helicopter pilot and Ohio state trooper training saved the day for drummer,
Rich Lininger. Further details of the story can be found at www.SALF.org
Pete Schlegel is on the road supporting his current single, titled "You
Can't Bring Her Back," and his sophomore CD, I'm Not Listening. Schlegel is
putting the finishing touches on the video for his upcoming single, "Alcohol
Abuse". He is best known for his "Liquor to Like Her" single, the video for
which aired on GAC and VH1 Country for several months.
Fans can see Pete on the road in the Double S Tour with Daryle Singletary

THE GREENCARDS NAMED NEW EMERGING ARTIST AT AMERICANA AWARDS IN NASHVILLE
Nashville - Dualtone recording artists The Greencards received a nod of
recognition from the industry and fans late last week as they were named the
New Emerging Artists at the Fifth Annual Americana Music Awards in
Nashville. Held at the Ryman Auditorium, the awards recognize musical
achievement in the Americana genre, and featured performances this year by
artists including Elvis Costello, Rosanne Cash, Vince Gill, and others.
The award caps off a great year for the talented band, who Rolling
Stone.com described as "an imported trio creating some of the finest
Americana around." They have been busy touring the U.S. non-stop the past
few months and are gearing up for the release of their upcoming project on
Dualtone, "Viridian," due out in February 2007.
"We can still remember what it felt like the first time we entered the
Americana Radio Chart, and what a buzz it was to be in the same company as
some of our favorite artists," said The Greencards' Carol Young. "So now, in
2006, to receive the 'New/Emerging Artist of The Year' is an incredible
thrill and a great achievement for the band."
"Congrats to The Greencards, we're so proud of Carol, Kym, and Eamon. They
are one of the hardest working bands out there," comments Scott Robinson,
Co- President, Dualtone Music Group.
