Since many days, I'm not able to watch cmt.com. I'm using XP SP2
with WMP 10. The player works fine for videos embeded on a site. But with
cmt it pulls up another browser window. It plays the commercial
but won't stream the song video. The player says ready. But when you hit
ready it plays the commercial. I've uninstalled a few times still does same
thing.
The same problem with radio's on cmt.com.
Suggestions would be appreciated thanks.
Fabian
Turn off the firewall. If you're using a third-party software
firewall like Zone Alarm or McAfee, check teh settings to allow the
site/program/protocol/port/browser to do its thing.
If MP 10 can't handshake with the server, no download stream will
happen. A javascript application checks to make sure the ad was
viewed before sending the real deal. ;`(
No, I am not kidding.
This is a problem also with Firefox or Mozilla, when pop-up blockers
are enabled, on certain sites with streaming video.
Make sure javascript is enabled, CMT.com is a Trusetd Site (Internet
Explorer users), and pop-up blocking is disabled for cmt.com (Mozilla
users).
I run MP 9 under Win2k, and have the same issues.
The price we pay for security...

Thank you for your advice. It seems the problem is by cmt itself as I read
the discussion on the site below.
Thanks.

more on the video problems
Hi all,
I have a few thoughts on this dang video problem.
I have not been able to play videos since 4th April.
I did eventually get an email reply from CMT who said the usual stuff about
checking my computer and server etc.
BUT, I phoned someone at the CMT shop and they told me that CMT were doing
some upgrades to their system and to keep checking back to see if it was
working...hmmmm.
I have a theory that they have put a block on anyone outside of the USA
viewing them. I have asked lots of my friends to try and they all get the
same problem. I even asked a friend in Germany and they also got the same
problem.
Can I ask for a bit of a poll, if you are unable to view the videos are you
inside or outside the USA ?
(I'm in the UK and am a big country fan and am really miffed that I can't
view the videos anymore).

RE: more on the video problems
Hi everybody!
I have the same problem. I can't see any video. I'm from Spain. In my
country it's almost impossible to see and listen country music, but damn!
now it's impossible!!
We love country music and we should have the same rights to see what we love
as the american people do.
I hope they could fix this problem soon (I want to suppose it is a problem
and not a political decision or some nonesense)
Greetings from Mallorca! Yeeehaw

RE: more on the video problems
Hi Fabianbertrand,
Yes, it does effect the "listen parties" also.
I don't accept that this problem is due to my system or ISP. Nothing has
changed and I have a modern more than capable system. I did orginally have
some problems getting the videos to work when I first started viewing them,
but that was to do with ad blocking software etc.
Since then they have worked fine for months.
So far my theory is holding that it is only people outside the USA who have
this problem.

(If there is a CMT forum moderator reading this then please find out what
CMT have changed so that we can start watching our favorite videos again)

I'm in the US and haven't been able to watch any videos except for those
offered on the main video page. Anything listed on the artist's pages won't
play for me.

RE: more on the video problems
Hi xxxooo,
looks like it's not just outside the US then, that's good to know. Must be
CMT systems then, they must know what's going on, since posting this there
are obviously many people who cant view them, cumon CMT, get this fixed.

I totally agree.

I am having the same problem and have heard from loads of people in the
UK that they are having the same problem.
Someone advised me to to load Windows Media 10 Hotfix and check on the
date thingie setting, and to stop the pop up blocker but these did no
good either.
At least Yahoo Music, YouTube, Singing Fool, and American Music Chanel
(once logged in) still work but they are not as good as CMT.com used to
be.

LOL!
CMT.com seem to have sorted out their access problem to the U.K., and
this site is now listenable and watcheable again in the U.K.
