There is an oldtime jam every Friday at the Rockfish Valley Community
Center that starts at 7:30 and goes on to 10:30.  Check out the
website. http://rockfishcc.org/
I go to this one at least once a month.  There are some really good
pickers and some real nice folk at this jam!

Pete Vigour hosts an oldtime jam the third Tuesday and fourth Wednesday
of each month at a Baptist Church somewhere near the corner district in
Charlottesville.
