Here is their bio from
nlfolk.com :
2013 marks 40 years of music-making for St. Johnąs-based Crooked
Stovepipe, as it continues its run as the oldest bluegrass band
in Canada. Over the years founding members Neil Rosenberg and
Ted Rowe have taken the band through three CDs plus a recent
childrenąs recording with Colleen Power. Their third CD, "Just
In Case", was voted "Bluegrass Recording of the Year" by the
ECMA in 2006, and MusicNL named Power "Female Vocalist of the
Year" in 2011 for her collaboration with the band.
They have played often on radio and television, and appeared at
numerous concerts and festivals around the province, including
18 performances at the Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Festival
since its inception in 1976. The band has also concertized in
Nova Scotia, PEI, Ontario, and Alberta. Neil and Ted were
founding members of the Bluegrass and Old-Time Country Music
Society of Newfoundland and Labrador in 2005 and Crooked
Stovepipe has been featured regularly at its annual festival.
Watch for upcoming performances by Crooked Stovepipe plus a
live performance retrospective CD in the works for its 40th
year. Tedąs son Dave Rowe and Tom Power round out the band
for 2013.
