Glazunov was in his 50s at the time of the Revolution. Most of his
compositions were behind him. Gliere was in his 40s, with an already
well-established style. Prok and DSCH are considered among the great
composers of the 20th century, and we will wait in vain for your list
of Tchaikovskyisms in their music. Khachaturian, though more
conservative than these two, was a master who produced many incredible
works, including one of the top 10 great violin concertos of the 20th
century. His style is instantly distinguishable from Tchaikovsky's.

> Just what did the Stalinists mean by "socialist realism" in music?
It was explained by "realistic" in form (avoiding avante garde things
like serialism) and "socialist" in content (ideology). To the latter
end, absolute music was discouraged. Music with text or pictures (e.g.
to films) were preferred.
