A few tracks have been shifted in the Mussorgsky so they start, not
with the next Picture, but during a pause in the previous Promenade.
This alters the track timings compared with the source disc but there
doesn't seem to have been any actual time manipulation.
I believe Farhan Malik has already identified this disc as also the
source for Islamey. This has been shrunk from 8:41 to 8:21. This is
the first time I've personally encountered one of WBC's more drastic
efforts and it changes a brilliant, clearheaded performance into
something more hair-raising.

|I can't quite put my finger on it, but I somehow feel that at least one
|particular passage in Islamey has been sped up. Don't quote me on it, I
|can't prove and I'd retract if someone tries to nail me down on it. The
|passage in question is one accelerando anyway, with quite some repeated
|notes in there. And somehow these don't sound right, just as the length of
|reverb in the final chord (We're talking bars 30 - 45 here) doesn't sound
|right.
I was right again: performance was sped up and I did not have Campanella on
my radar in the 30 or so versions I listened.
