"Vassily Sinaisky revives the spirit of the Proms Viennese Night, once
an annual fixture, with a variety of fleet-footed Strauss-family
classics.
"In the first half, the accent is German rather than Austrian,
continuing the season's Schumann bicentenary celebrations. Here, the
probing and sensitive Christian Zacharias is the soloist in Schumann's
Piano Concerto, whose finale contains a buoyant waltz.
"* Please note: Vassily Sinaisky replaces the late Sir Charles
Mackerras as conductor of this concert which will be dedicated to the
memory of Sir Charles, who conducted 52 Proms concerts between 1961
and 2009.
"Dvorák's touching Slavonic Dance in E minor, Op.72 No.2 - a favourite
of the late maestro's - has been added to the programme (replacing the
Strauss waltz Where the Lemon Trees Blossom) in honour of Sir Charles'
championing of Czech music. Otherwise the programme remains
unchanged."

I wonder how probing Zacharias can be and still remain sensitive?
