David:
I've never seen a broadcast tape of this work. I did have an in-house
recording in quite decent sound. I posted it to operashare sometime
ago, but I believe the links are still good. Since I was the original
poster, I don't think I am breaking operashare rules by offering them
below.

On request here is the Pierre Boulez Liszt LEGEND OF ST. ELIZABETH
from the NYP's 1971 season. Boulez made some judicious cuts and IMHO,
it strengthens the work. A really lovely performance.
Disc two contains a few lagniappes, including Jan DeGaetani in
Varese's OFFRANDES and the Ravel MALLARME POEMS. I have never heard
the Varese sound more beautiful than it does here and the Mallarme
poems, even with a lack of support on one note, had me holding my
breath for fear of breaking the spell deGaetani cast. Enjoy!
192kps. Disc One in one ZIP file, join disc two with HJSplit, unzip
and you are good to go. Sourced from LPS (LISZT) and my personal open
reel collection. Remastering by yours truly. Liszt recorded 1971,
all other items recorded 1975.

The Stravinsky items are rather mundane. The Varese and the Ravel
outstanding.
I think you'll enjoy them. At least I hope you will.
Ray
David, Ray, et.al., there are no broadcast tapes of the NYP between
mid-1967 (when the musicians voted to discontinue the broadcasts) and
the 1975-76 season (when Exxon signed on as sponsor). All material
from this period is in-house.

Thanks very much! I remember seeing a "pirate" LP set of the Liszt, many
years ago at one or two stores in San Francisco, on a label called MRF or IGI
or something like that. I never did buy it, so this music is new to me.
