Very unusual - 2 Russians in 1941 playing Albeniz' Navarra in a very flowery arrangement.
I'm wondering if Albeniz himself made this 2-piano arrangement.

Gilels was certainly one of the most truly versatile pianists of the 20th century.

During World War II, many top Russian musicians gave recitals and
concerts to entertain the troops,as well as the folks in harms way. I do
not know the source of this nice video clip, but wonder if it was such
entertainment, somewhat analogous to our V-discs.

Looks like an example of piano-lip-synching. At 1:35 you can see the
entire keyboard of the second pianist, for example. And there are
numerous shots which don't show cameras in locations where they were
previously filming.
