Hello,

I have the above Piaf "Integrale" set, which came with no booklet, even
though the discs' sleeves refer to the booklet (in French). I returned
the set to the dealer (USA) as incomplete, and was sent a brand new set.
The new one also had no booklet. I e-mailed EMI Classics in the UK, and
they kindly replied that I should contact EMI France. I did that twice,
and got no replies.

I really need the recording information from the booklet, and am at a
loss as to where to turn next. A previous Piaf expert at an American
university is now overseas and unavailable. I would be quite happy with
a photocopy or on-line source, if the original booklet cannot be found
for me.

Thank you in advance.

Wrong newsgroup. This is for classical recordings.

I do note that multiple reviews on Amazon state there is no booklet in
this set, a 2007 reissue. Apparently if you can find the original 2003
issue it has the booklet.

Hi,

some labels novadays comes with a booklet as PDF on the last or separate CD.
So have a look on the first or last CD on your PC. Perhaps they add such a
PDF.

Yours sincerely

Hi Steve,

Thank you very much for your helpful reply to my 2009 post about the
Edith Piaf booklet. I really do appreciate your thoughtfulness.

In 2009, I tried re-contacting a Piaf specialist at Yale U., but found
out that she was then working at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow, thus
precluding any further contact.

I have followed Piaf's career on records since the early LP era of 1948.
My wife saw Piaf in N.Y.C. before she married me, but I never saw Piaf
in person.

I will pursue your link, and thank you again.

Regards,

Mort

Dear Arno,

Thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately, there is no such information
on the first or last CDs. I wish that there were.

Incidentally, several e-mail and snailmail requests to EMI-France were
never answered.

Your address mentions Trier. If I remembercorrectly, the wines there are
excellent. Prosit.

Regards,

Maybe create an eBay search for the earlier 2003 set. If you create
an eBay search you can save it and it will send you an email daily on
any search results it turns up. The trick is to not have the search
so broad that it comes back with too many results every day.

Mort,

what you are looking for does exist. I too spent hours trying to figure this out. There were 2 booklets in the first release of the 20 CDs set (listed in France National Library catalogue). If you find them, please share scans. Richard
