If you carry an A440 tuning fork in your pocket and everytime you have a
free moment sound it, let it vibrate on your forehead, then hum at A440,
in no time you'll be able to hear that A440 without a tuning fork and

I'm visualizing that right now, and can just imagine the comments this
might solicit. Especially if one were to wear an aluminum foil hat and
carry the tuning fork around in a pocket protector. :)

The CA30 also has a tone generator which comes in handy........ like
early in a jam when the nylon string guy is tuned flat and swears he
isn't until you buzz a 440 in his ear. Out in the real world, not
everybody uses a tuner. :-)

It took me about a month to that. You needn't make a public spectacle
of yourself in the process Think about this on you drive to and from
work everyday. All that time you waste working for someone else. I
call that "werk" and most of you ought not be surfing rmcg while you're
at werk. :-)

Good idea. I've always been able to hear the "E" string in my head.
However, during the last few years, it's been harder to hear it clearly.
I suspect I'll loose this ability shortly. I just turned 51. OTOH, I
don't play with anyone else so why should I care if my absolute pitch is
off?

That's right! If they want to play with you it's up to them to tune up.

Troy and I tuned up before our lesson. He uses a pitch fork if that's
what you mean. He said I should tune up a whole octave which is really good
for those high notes. He also said I could hear the tuning fokr better if I
but it up against my butt bone but I think he was just trying to get me to
take of my panities. After the throwing up thing I drove home and I got to
thinking hes not a very good teaher.plus he smells. but I was willing to
try the tuningfork thing until he hurled. he's nice but not very brightt.
i like that. btw tuning forkrs are really cold. I think you should heat
them in a mricrowave ro seomthing before you use them or at least the way i
did when i got home
