Haha! good production is a must now I guess! Right I am reading two of the 3 theses written on the guitarists of from the 1770 to 1830 (the first one by Danielle Ribouillot, the second one by Pascal Valois) ... extraordinary read!
Pascal Valois for one mention the importance of the romance style and the essential association for the French of this era of the words and the music, this in itself explain the numerous potpourri, arrangement, transcription of operatic music to the guitar in a golden era where our instrument,in France at least, was king!
