review: SoloDuo - Feb. 19 Toronto

SoloDuo opened their latest tour with a sold out show in Toronto last
night - wow!

First half was dedicated to works associated with Presti-Lagoya:

-Bach French Suite (no 5 I think)
-Debussy Claire de Lune (both P-L arrangements)
-a little firecracker Toccata by Petit written in the 60s for P-L duo.

Second half:

-a suite written for SoloDuo by Lorenzo Palomo
-Intermezzo from Granados' Goyescas (arr. E. Pujol)
-two Preludes and Fugues (B and Cm) from Castelnuovo-Tedesco's Well
Tempered Guitar (highlight of the programme for me - can't wait until
their recording of this comes out)
-Giuliani Variazioni Concertante op. 130

Next are dates in Hamilton and Brantford today, Evanston, IL, then a
few dates in Ohio. Not to be missed.
