I'm going to be interview Andrew Schulman on Friday. What should I ask
him? Anything you'd like him to discuss?

Ask him whether he thinks arpeggio tech can be usefully practiced
without playing in any particular meter, i.e. as pure finger exercises
with no other musical accoutrements!

Chris,
Since he is a successful gig player in NYC, ask him about his approach
to writing arrangements for standards and pop songs. His arrangements
are outstanding.

Did you mean "Suonata"? Re: the music of Weiss? If so the answer is
"None!"

Michael, I will always give you credit for getting me to appreciate

Thanks Doug, arranging is a great vehicle for creativity, I've always
loved arranging, going back to my first one at age 17.

Hi Dick, BTW, FU for your 8 years as VPOTUS!

The best line for handling hecklers was something I heard back in the
'80's from several comedians when I was doing my "Victor Borge of the
Guitar" act in the comedy clubs. It cut short anyone every time.
Unfortunately, this is a family oriented NG so I can't repeat it here.

I also first arranged at 17, although I had wanted desperately to
arrange since the age of eleven. I would fantasize about arranging
several times a day, so much so that my first arrangement turned out
to be slightly disappointing and anti-climactic.

That was usually, "Do I come down to your job at McDonalds and heckle
you!?!"

OK, the one I am referring to was to male hecklers and went like this:

Comedian: "Do you remember your first ____ ____?

The heckler would always smugly but warily say, "Yes".

Comedian: "How did it taste?"

I never had any hecklers. I did have a drunk who wanted to beat me
up. This was at a very upscale bar. I guess a drunk is a drunk
wherever they are.
