CLOSING THEME/FUNDING CREDITS

This week's edition of CLASSICAL GUITAR ALIVE! features interviews and
concert  performances at the 2001 Stetson International Guitar Workshop,
recorded live on the campus of Stetson University in Deland, Florida.

The program begins with French guitarist-composer Roland Dyens performing
Fernando Sor's Andante Largo.

Italian pedagogue/performer Oscar Ghiglia joins Greek guitarist (and his
ex-student) Antigoni Goni for a duet arrangement of the Sextet for Strings
by Brahms. Antigoni Goni performs a solo guitar work, the
Turkish-music-inspired work, Koyunbaba, by Carlo Domeniconi.

The Amadeus Duo consists of husband/wife guitarists Thomas Kirchhoff
(Germany) and Dale Kavanagh (Canada). They discuss the unusual hardware
demands of a composition dedicated to them, Brazilian composer Jaime Zenamon
's "Casablanca: A Story, a Place, and a Kiss". The work evokes the movie
"Casablanca", and uses hand-held battery-powered electric mini-fans to
strike the strings. The mini-fans create an eerie tremolo effect, and the
spinning fan blades evoke the spinning ceiling fans and the spinning
airplane propellers from the film.

The program continues with Stephen Robinson, artistic director, performing
Roland Dyens' "Fuoco", from his Libra Sonatine.

One of America's leading flamenco guitarist performer/educators, Dennis
Koster, discusses the state of today's pop flamenco versus the "Flamenco de
Concierto". He performs his dazzling Bulerias in Homage to the legendary
flamenco dancer Carmen Amaya.

The Minneapolis Guitar Quartet brings the house down with their witty encore
medley, "White-Out".
