It was announced in the Fall of 2006 that Per Norgard had finished his
Symphony No. 7, but there was never an announcement of the world
premiere. I contacted Edition WH, who responded with this sad news:

"The 7th symphony was commissioned and will be premiered by the Danish
National Radio Orchestra at the opening of the new Radio Concert Hall.
It was originally meant to be opened last year, but the building has
been much delayed because of huge economical+politcal problems... The
last we've heard is that it will be opened in january 2009. So until
then, we'll have to wait for Per's 7th symphony, I'm afraid!"

Didn't know he wrote symphonies, he's written some very good pieces
for solo guitar.

Why is that "sad news"?

Would you have a piece commissioned for the opening of the theater
performed somewhere else because the theater hasn't been finished on
time? How many works were commissioned in honor of Disney Hall in
L.A., and how long did _that_ take?

That's funny, I've always thought of him as a symphonist. I didn't
know he wrote guitar pieces. Thanks for the tip.
