In collaboration with Archiv Music Sony has just reissued several recordings of music by Elliott Carter. At the same time Bridge Records has just released a new recording of Carter’s Piano Concerto with Charles Rosen and Juilliard Quartet violinist turned conductor Joel Smirnoff. With these two releases, we’re up to five recordings of the Piano Concerto in print.
Because RCA and Sony are now part of a single corporate entity, Sony has been able to include recordings originally released on both Columbia and RCA within a single release. The recordings reissued by Sony/Archiv are available from Archiv Music on a print-on-demand CDR or as mp3 downloads from Amazon. Links to both releases below.
