Hmm - does this mean it's one of those student-like jamborees where
you can't actually attend everything. Pick 'n Mix gigs?

If this is the event of which I heard rumours last summer, it will be
a more or less continuous event in all locations simultaneously (as
Stockhausen had recommended, for complete performances of the cycle).
On the one hand, this means you will only be able to attend absolutely
everything if you are capable of being in seven locations at once. On
the other, it means that the total of all performances will be 2 x 12
x 7 = 168 hours. Allowing for breaks to change the stage setup, etc.,
let us say about 120 hours actual playing time. That allows each of
the 21 pieces to be played an average of 14 times over the two days.
Even taking into account travel time between venues and time off for
the occasional meal, this should not prevent anyone from hearing all
21 pieces at least one time each.

Dear Ivor,

it is possible in 2 days to listen to all Hours (ever Hour is
performed several times per day, ca. 3 to 4 times). The official plan
will be announced in December. So I certainly would never give it a
miss.....

Mit herzlichem Gruß
