The show has been canceled. I understand that no one was willing to pick
it up and they have canceled many dates along the tour. A local promoter
said they were losing $10 000 per show in the US right now. I guess It's a
good show, but they've over priced themselves.
Has anyone else heard about the tour's financial status?

Toronto had a base price of $26.50 (which would probably go over $30 once
taxes, ticket service charges, other surcharges, etc etc are thrown
in)... in T.O. this was to be handled by CPI, about the biggest secular
promoter around these parts... Jim Vanderburg, who used to do the
concerts for Toronto YFC, has had some connections with the big shows
(Amy, MWS, etc) in the past and might have been involved on this one.
There was also a definite lack of lead time available... things like the
Newsboys gig here, the Reborn fest near London, etc. have been known and
publicised for months already... build-up is needed when it comes to
Christian concerts, especially since there aren't the sorts of media
machines among churches and youth groups as there are in the secular realm.

First of all how many records has DC Talk sold in Canada?, Vs., some
of the top acts that come into Toronto. Are they worth the $30. "I
don't think so". Me personally, I'll go to the Pheonix concert
theatre or like, and see a band for $8 - $15 who is selling 500 000+
units in Canada alone. Promoters in this town should price the bands
according to their sales. I heard the DC Talk concert was at the
Varsity arena (a non union venue, 2500 cap). What a price tag! Massey
hall tickets are that price and their union.
Second, I have had enough of the same acts over and over and over...
and some that have been around forever. It's time we get some new
acts up here in Toronto. Hats off to you Dave for starting this
trend, the Reborn CCM Fest and any others bring in new acts
THANKYOU!!!!
Just one of my pet peeves
Kevin
Does DC Talk have an e-mail address...i have some questions for them, and
