I've been using Giganews ( [link] ) seamlessly for about 6
years I guess, ever since adelphia began providing an unusable feed
from usenet. It's for fee, and I used it to track down obscure music
and documents on the binary side. I don't do that much these days, so
may look around.

Daniella, I use the killfile function of my newsreader. I may have seen
the first posting here from this person, but I haven't seen any others,
and don't understand all the fuss. Perhaps my news server kills his
posts for me - I don't know, but by using a killfile, I don't find the
spam on the newsgroup bad at all.

Thanks for the Unison link in Version Tracker. I use VT as my source
when searching for Mac software, too, and have been a paid subscriber
of its software update services for several years.
Since you, Daniella and others are very knowledgeable about Usenet
groups, in addition to Google Groups, what other servers are available

I just googled Unison for the Mac, and wouldn't you know it? Some
clever soul posted on his website a Rapidshare link for downloading
Unison, along with four nude photos on the same page.

I use Unison on the Mac so I can killfile pretty quickly. In this case
I didn't even see it. I'm unsure which filter killed it.
