Travel to Brazil to study music

Hi everyone,

I am organizing a two-week guided tour to Brazil to study music with
Brazilian musicians and teachers. The trip will happen in November
2008.

The group will meet up in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on November 17,
staying in the Flamengo neighborhood, a quiet enclave away from
tourists. We will have 10 full days of classes and workshops, led by
active professional Brazilian musicians. (We will have translators
when the teachers are not fluent in English.) All classes are within
walking distance of the hotel. In the evenings, we will go out to
cultural nightclubs to listen to samba, bossa nova and Brazilian jazz,
etc.

Hi Gerry,

No, this is the maiden voyage. However, I have been traveling
extensively in Brazil, laying the groundwork for this for the past
five years. I have met many great players and teachers there, and now
I have the experience to finally offer this to other musicians.

If you remember, I posted to another newsgroup
(rec.music.makers.guitar.jazz) about a trip I made to Brazil, and you
had some questions. It had to do with my partner in this venture,
Vicente March.

I think that this trip would be an amazing experience for any
musician, and I have not heard of anyone else doing this kind of
thing. Unless you know people in Brazil, you cannot do this on your
own.
